Splurg!

we decided to give ourselves a break from cheap accomodations and backpacking, and splurged on a beach front hotel for a week. the hotel is right on a secluded beach of Placencia Peninsula, away from any sort of party crowd or local solicitors targeting at tourists.. . our room(lower right pic) is on the 2nd floor with a private belcony overlooking the caribean (middle left picture), the hotel has a dock stretching out to the ocean, at the end is a hammack and chairs where you can relax (upper right, lower left). this is my tropical paradise dream come true. :) i just need to watch out for those freckles popping up around my shoulders... :(

[edit] Reading books on the dock while soaking up the sun is probably a good summary of what i did this past week. we asked the owner if we are the laziest guests they've ever had. the answer was "just about.." but that's what we are here for, isn't it? of course all this luxury and comfort came at a price. we nearly doubled our daily budget here but certainly with no regrets. tonight (5/2) is our last night here, we will fly back to Belize city first thing in the morning and onward to Costa Rica in late afternoon.
